Give killer whales a voice…for years to come

What it takes to power conservation that lasts.

Over the past month we’ve received over $23,500 in donations for our ‘Give Killer Whales a Voice’ initiative. Thank you! Because of your support, we continue to make steady progress in achieving our funding goal and getting our team of conservationists out on the water in just a few months time.

Because research unfolds over years, we need your ongoing support.

 ‘Give Killer Whales a Voice’ is a multi-year initiative with research expeditions expected to take place in Canada, Iceland, and Australia through 2028. By becoming a monthly donor, your contributions provide long-term, reliable, self-sustaining income

Science-informed advocacy is central to our approach, as research translates to policy outcomes. This is how we will:

  • Establish a scalable, global framework for comparative studies of killer whale communications;
  • Study and protect other sound-centred species (like the endangered Southern Resident killer whales);
  • Create tools that other researchers can adopt worldwide.

How can you support such an ambitious endeavour?

By becoming a monthly donor today, not only will you be actively supporting us in defending killer whales, but you’ll get a chance to engage in real-time conversation with our Cetacean Conservation Research Program Director, Valeria Vergara, in an upcoming webinar. We’ll dive into the nitty gritty of the project, what approaches we’re taking, and how this work aims to protect these vulnerable marine mammals.
