Helps us Re-Power Achiever

We want to make Achiever better. It’s time for an upgrade.
Shifting to a hybrid engine
Our main engine is coming due for a replacement. We have an opportunity to enhance Achiever with a hybrid engine.
Less sound, more efficiency, better research
We can reduce the ship’s carbon footprint, creating a more sound and energy efficient vessel by replacing the engine propulsion system from a strictly fossil fuel burning power plant to a hybrid electric one. This provides the ability to run as a fully electric vessel for extended periods of time.

Benefits of a refit
- Reduced underwater noise will have a smaller impact on whales and surrounding underwater ecosystems.
- Reduced noise while conducting cetacean research.
- Reduced cabin noise will provide a quieter experience for crew, scientists, and passengers.
- Lowered carbon emissions due to reduced fuel consumption
- Battery bank will allow us to run fully electric for periods of time.
- Better maneuverability, safer around whales and docking
- Lower operating costs for vessel
- Reduced maintenance costs/down time
- Leader in green/carbon improvements on coast
