Happy Holidays from Raincoast
As the Christmas holiday arrives, your print version of Tracking Raincoast will be arriving soon as well. In the interim, I encourage you to take a look at our online version of Tracking Raincoast as this year we have made an extra effort to make our stories of Raincoast present, future, and past as accessible as possible.
For myself, Christmas holidays mean a little time away from the office and a few extra hikes with Atticus, a.k.a. the Raincoast dog. Our staff also get a welcome respite and we close things down until the New Year.
However you celebrate this time of year we wish you, your friends, and family the best and hope you get a chance to get outside and enjoy the land, waters, and wildlife of BC that we all share a passion for.
Happy Holidays on behalf of all of us at Raincoast.
This Christmas you can donate and find the gift for the person that has everything.
You can help
Raincoast’s in-house scientists, collaborating graduate students, postdoctoral fellows, and professors make us unique among conservation groups. We work with First Nations, academic institutions, government, and other NGOs to build support and inform decisions that protect aquatic and terrestrial ecosystems, and the wildlife that depend on them. We conduct ethically applied, process-oriented, and hypothesis-driven research that has immediate and relevant utility for conservation deliberations and the collective body of scientific knowledge.
We investigate to understand coastal species and processes. We inform by bringing science to decision-makers and communities. We inspire action to protect wildlife and wildlife habitats.
