Jeffrey Gordon Whiting

An award-winning sculptor, author, impresario, and environmental advocate with a background in biology and geology, Jeff is president and founder of Artists for Conservation (AFC), the world’s leading artist group supporting the environment.

When Jeff was sixteen, Prime Minister Brian Mulroney presented one of Jeff’s sculptures to Prince Philip, and at eighteen, Jeff completed his first book and won first prize at the World Championships for Wildfowl Carving.

A signature member of the Society of Animal Artists, a fellow of the Explorers Club, a Leigh Yawkey Birds in Art exhibitor, and recipient of Business in Vancouver’s Forty Under 40 Award, Jeff has advised for Science Art-Nature at Stanford and the Robert Bateman Centre for Art and Environmental Education. He is producing a series of AFC documentary films and leading the AFC Festival — a ten-day international art and environmental education event at North Vancouver’s Grouse Mountain Resort.
