Invasive Plant Removal Activity at S,DÁYES Flycatcher Forest
April 21 @ 10:00 am – 12:00 pm

Join us in celebrating this year’s National Volunteer Week and Earth Day by helping remove invasive daphne/spurge laurel at S,DÁYES Flycatcher Forest! With our partners at the Pender Islands Conservancy, we will work together to remove this invasive species, which negatively impacts habitat for native species and outcompetes native understory plants. By removing invasive daphne/spurge laurel, we can then plant native understory plants that provide important habitat and food for native wildlife, such as songbirds, pollinators, and amphibians. If you are unable to lend a hand but would still like to contribute, donations of baked goods, hot or cold beverages, and lunch items are welcome to keep our steadfast volunteers powered!
