1. E-transfer

If you would like to support Raincoast by making a donation through Interac e-Transfer in Canada, please follow these steps:

1. Login to your personal online banking website or app
2. Select the e-transfer function available from your bank
3. Enter the following email address: sheryl [at] raincoast [dot] org (Sheryl St Onge is our Finance Coordinator) 

Please note that you should not be required to add a security question and response, as we have registered this email address with Interac e-Transfer®Autodeposit.

4. Enter amount
5. Include your name and email address in the message field. If there are additional details we should know about your gift, please email us at sheryl [at] raincoast [dot] org .

2. Electronic Fund Transfer (EFT) and wire transfer

You can easily donate stocks and securities from Canada and the US* to help protect the Pacific Northwest’s coast!  There are various tax incentives depending on your situation and Raincoast is a registered charity in both Canada and the US.

EFT (Electronic Funds Transfer) and wire transfers are both ways to move money electronically between bank accounts, but they differ in speed, cost, and how they’re processed.

Here are some of the main factors to consider when choosing between a wire transfer and other EFTs:

• Time – wire transfers are often favored over other types of EFTs if you need the money to arrive urgently.
• Cost – if your payment isn’t as urgent, you might be able to use an EFT with lower transfer fees than a wire transfer.
• Amount – Wire transfers are recommended for sending larger amounts, as they have more rigid measures to help protect your funds.
