Raincoast Conservation Foundation at the Girls and STEAM Summit

Raincoast’s Land Healing Stewards leads Priya Puri and Pascale Campagna-Slater will be hosting a showcase booth at Science World’s Girls and STEAM Summit on Saturday October 3.

This event aims to inspire girls* ages 12-14 to discover new passions in STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art & design, and math). The event will also feature a keynote speaker, a mentor café, and workshops. Registration is required to attend, as spaces are limited. The showcase booths will also be open to regular Science World guests.

*This inclusive program welcomes participants and mentors of many gender identities – whether you identify as a girl, trans, genderqueer, non-binary, Two-Spirit, or gender questioning.

Land Healing Stewards is Raincoast’s forest education and restoration program that offers learning activities, skill development and field-based restoration and monitoring activities, with a particular focus on youth from communities traditionally underrepresented in the science and conservation sectors. 

Come by our booth to learn about how math is used in forest conservation, check out tools used in the field, and discover forest-related careers. At the booth, you can also talk to Priya and Pascale who are both females working in the conservation sector, and they can share advice and lessons from their education and work experiences.
