Valeria will share some of the work from Raincoast’s Cetacean Conservation Research Program, focusing on acoustic communication, whale culture, and how underwater noise is reshaping the acoustic lives of several whale species.

• Southern Resident killer whales and how vessel noise disrupts their communication.
• Northern Resident and Bigg’s killer whales, and our new exciting work on decoding their communication systems
• Raincoast’s coastal listening stations on the Sunshine Coast and Pender Island, and what long-term monitoring is revealing.
