DESCRIPTION:Join us in celebrating this year’s National Volunteer Week and Earth Day by helping remove invasive daphne/spurge laurel at S\,DÁYES Flycatcher Forest! With our partners at the Pender Islands Conservancy\, we will work together to remove this invasive species\, which negatively impacts habitat for native species and outcompetes native understory plants. By removing invasive daphne/spurge laurel\, we can then plant native understory plants that provide important habitat and food for native wildlife\, such as songbirds\, pollinators\, and amphibians. We’re hoping to change that by hosting The Confluence\, an evening of thought-provoking discussions\, community-building\, and networking at the Fraser River Discovery Centre. \n\n\n\nRegister now\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nWe’ll kick it off with a keynote talk by Jason Hwang\, Vice President of the Pacific Salmon Foundation\, then transition to small-group activities to discuss how our field can adapt to a changing political environment. What should we be looking out for in the coming years?
