SUMMARY:Drawing Nature Course with Alison Watt begins November 12
DESCRIPTION:Illustration by Alison Watt.\n\n\n\n\n\nHave you always wanted to learn to draw and to keep a nature journal? \n\n\n\nAlison Watt is offering this course in support of Raincoast Conservation Foundation. \n\n\n\nDrawing Nature includes three live Zoom demos\, plus notes on materials and techniques. It is designed to help you jump into drawing and painting nature. You will learn some simple techniques to help you make quick and accurate drawings. You’ll find out about different materials: pencils\, pens\, pencil crayons\, and watercolour\, to bring your drawings to life. Plants\, shells\, bones\, feathers\, stones\, trees and clouds – they can all be captured in quick sketches. In her book The Last Island\, a Naturalist’s Sojourn on Triangle Island\, she combined her vivid nature writing with watercolours. \n\n\n\nHer work has appeared in Art for an Oil Free Coast\, and in a recent retrospective of the Group of Seven (naturalist/artists) “Drawing Connections” at the Centre for the Salish Sea. \n\n\n\nShe has been teaching art for over 30 years. Newman Awards at the Vancouver Aquarium.
