Robert Davidson
Robert Davidson is one of Canada’s most respected and important contemporary artists. Of Haida descent, he is a master carver of totem poles and masks and also works as a printmaker, painter, and jeweller. A leading figure in the renaissance of Haida art and culture, he is renowned as an impeccable craftsman whose creative and personal interpretation of traditional Haida form is unparalleled.
Davidson’s internationally acclaimed body of work is found in private and public collections including the National Gallery of Canada, the Vancouver Art Gallery, the Canadian Museum of Civilization, and the Southwest Museum in California. He holds honourary degrees from the University of Victoria, Simon Fraser University, Emily Carr Institute of Art + Design, and the Southern Methodist University in Texas. He received both the National Aboriginal Achievement Award and Order of British Columbia in 1995, and in 1996 was awarded the prestigious Order of Canada.

Our new mobile lab will enable the Healthy Waters Program to deliver capacity, learning, and training to watershed-based communities. We need your support to convert the vehicle and equip it with lab instrumentation. This will allow us to deliver insight into pollutants of concern in local watersheds, and contribute to solution-oriented practices that protect and restore fish habitat.
